The Present Meets the Past

Mon Jul 7, 2008, 7:28 AM
I think that sometimes looking back on things in your past can be a real reality check. You often find yourself wondering "What was I thinking?", or thinking "I can't believe myself." I'm no expert on human nature, but I think it is fairly obvious, that in most cases, people sort of lose hold of their rationality and fall to their instincts and emotions.

But when you catch yourself falling and manage to get a grip again: where does that leave you when you aren't sure of your rationalizations; when you realize that you don't have all of your beliefs figured out. I know that there are things I'm sure of in life, but I also know that I haven't really answer a lot of questions I have for myself, and my philosophy class sure didn't help in the manner I was hopping it would, if anything I feel that it left me asking more questions about what I think and believe, which is probably a good thing.

I just need to figure out those things, because I don't want to run on instinct and emotion again or at least until I am sure I can do it without a destructive means to an end, because it isn't productive and might just put one back where they started, full circle like a proverbial merry-go-round.

I guess I for one, with help, have learned a little from my past, and I'm sure there is a lot I can learn when I figure out how it applies to the present.

Hi, stumbled across your gallery accidentally today. It looks to me like you have a lot of potential for photography. I think you should start playing around with some different angles when you are shooting. You seem to notice good subject matter very well. Keep up the great work though, I look forward to seeing more of your work
